"YIN AND YANG" by Yelena Lamm OPA

Yin and Yang is a tribute to contrast and connection — light and shadow, stillness and curiosity, softness and strength. I’ve always been drawn to the expressive nature of cows, and in this piece, the pairing of these two animals felt symbolic. The gentle white cow, eyes nearly closed, radiates calm, while the darker companion gazes outward, alert and steady. I love exploring these emotional dynamics through animal imagery — how posture, color, and expression can quietly echo the complexity of human relationships. Painting animals lets me reflect on balance in a way that feels both grounded and poetic.
