“VATICAN LINES” by Catherine Bobkoski

The title of the painting comes from my favorite poem by Wallace Stevens, “Large Red Man Reading.” It’s a poem about the redemptive power of art. The poem tells us that art is like a prophetic verse that doesn’t heal us by taking us away from the world, but by connecting us more deeply and directly to it.
