This portrait was inspired by a Native American man I met at a powwow of the Haliwa-Saponi Tribe in North Carolina. His quiet confidence, pride, and dignity immediately drew my attention, and I wanted to capture not only his character but also the vibrant beauty and intricate craftsmanship of his ceremonial regalia. Through expressive brushwork and luminous color, I sought to honor both the individual and the rich cultural heritage he represents.
