Every flower that blooms has to go through a whole lot of dirt.” Laurie Jean Sennott In my previous painting, Quiet Strength, I shared I went deep, rooting out any lingering young trauma effects. I hadn’t expected such a strong emotional response as I put brush to canvas capturing wildflowers near Sheridan, Wyoming as they danced in the breeze. Brushes and paints my therapy, lost in my thoughts as deeper sacred healing took place and release came. Capturing this gorgeous wild blue Penstemon blooming in the meadow nearby continued my experience. This time there was reflection on my growth, processing and releasing. I felt a beautiful lightness and joy! A smile grew as each stroke was placed. Reflecting on resilience and fostering a growth mindset, I see what struggles and challenges I have walked through and what has overcome them. I am stronger than I know and yet not all in my own strength either. Yes, I’m doing the hard work partnering with my Lord, trusting, and following His leading and promptings, I find true freedom and healing. Just as flowers need soil and darkness to develop, we often through hardship develop resilience, wisdom, strength, and a deeper understanding of ourselves to bloom lavishly where we are planted. Mesmerizing!
