“QUIET WATERS” by Tyrel Johnson

Many have been healed by a body of water in some way. The Boulder River, in Big Timber, healed a deep sorrow in my fourteen year old heart following my brother’s suicide. Often, when everyone was asleep I would walk to the river and cry as I stared at the ripples. One night the full moon’s reflection inverted as if the light was breaking through a black film on the water. I can’t explain it, but suffice it to say I was irrevocably changed from that moment onward. Light started shining through the cracks in my sorrow. If a river can do that for me; I can’t imagine how many people have been guided to a reflection of their own way to heal. Though the river is all but quiet; it is so very quiet there isn’t it? I hope that my gifts as an artist can bring a piece of that feeling to your home, and more peace for those that dwell within. - Tyrel Johnson
