"NIGHT HERONS LAST CALL" by Clint Bova

After traversing along many many miles of rivers in the Mohican National Forest, I’ve come to realize that Blue Herons are very territorial. They seem to have now accepted me as their own because I am able to approach them very closely. Their crests no longer rise when I walk by or under them. Now they simply gurgle and preen themselves. This painting conveys how personal their roosts really are.
