"MEADOW SUNSET" by Liane Whittum

This painting is of a meadow that is very close to my home. In New Hampshire, there are very few places that one can go to see the sky and the full intensity of the sunset. Usually the sky is obscured by the vast abundance of trees and I can only catch a peek at the color, a mere hint through the tree branches that there is a beautiful sunset brewing. It is rare near my home to have this vast and unobscured view of nature and all of its glory. I spend 90 percent of my plein air painting time here in this flat. It is my favorite place to experience nature, especially at sunset, and continues to provide endless inspiration.
