'IN THE FLOW" by Brian Sauerland

From the Artist: "Capturing the feeling of moving water certainly comes with challenges. For my painting, In the Flow, I was drawn to the fast-moving reflective water in the top third of the composition. But at the same time, I was intrigued by how the water seemed to reverse course as it interacted with the large rocks that disrupted the flow in the center and lower part of the painting. Bringing both of these elements together and making it work in one cohesive painting was another challenge and where the fun began for me. In the end, I felt the smooth flow at the top set against the more intricate splashing of water on the rocks gives the viewer just enough interest to pause, ponder, and enjoy."
