"FIRST LIGHT MULEY" by Kasey Nixon

At my home in Montana, I am lucky to have almost daily encounters with mule deer, and this particular buck last October was one of the nicest I’ve seen in a long time. My first glimpse of him was the sun-haloed crown of his antlers as he worked his way out of a draw as the sun rose. I knew immediately I would be painting his portrait.
