"AFTER THE WIND" by Ann Kraft Walker OPA

I was outside after a big wind. I picked up a broken branch to throw in the fire pit but realized it was beautiful. I began to look for other things after that wind to see if I could put together a still life. I found the deserted bird nest that had been lined on the bottom with a snake skin. I had an old architectural piece with shapes that reminded me of wind and served as a counter balance in the composition. I found the other elements while tromping around our property and this is what came together. I set it up by a north window and painted it from life.
