“1928, MEMOIR” by Nanci France-Vaz

An imaginative portrait of a memory of my grandmother who was Italian and a classical pianist/poet. I did a painting of her from an old 1928 photo when she was 27. She would always tell me she was princess from Italy, so this is my homage to her of that memory. Although I did not have a reference for the body and face in profile, I created an imaginative location in Italy. The clothing are items I purchased and have in my model wardrobe. The face is half imagined and half my model Brianna.
