Biography

Raised in rural Montana, Troy works from his studio on his family’s ranch. His work is influenced by the space and history surrounding him. He was exposed to a private collection of museum quality works at a young age. The collection included medieval sculptures, masterworks paintings from the Italian Renaissance and pre-1900’s Native American Art. The sculpture and furniture Troy creates are thus influenced by the 14th and 15th Moorish culture. Troy is a self-taught artist who has had apprenticeships in complex wood joinery and the business of historical rare art. He has shown in galleries and museum exhibitions, including group and solo shows nationally and internationally. He has also executed large commissions- public and private.

Along with sculptural works Troy also paints. He has innovated his paintings from works created by four prominent Russian Artists who worked in the first quarter of the 20th century. Their work is based on Geo-forms and incorporates marble dust, silver dust and turquoise dust into the paintings- this added texture is used for the delineation of line.
