The phenomenon of sunrises, sunsets, moonrises, moonsets, clouds moving across the sky, days changing from night to day and day to night, are all miracles of creation. Essentially I paint because I love to. I trust the beautiful loneliness of the subject matter to bring peace and quiet to the weary soul, always compelled to the pursuit of honing my skills, knowing this is a lifelong endeavor.
My family and I live in Northern Idaho. We frequently travel the western lands to experience the landscape, wildlife and wide open skies.
My husband, Randall and I live in the Inland Northwest. My daughter, painter Abigail Gutting and I are often off to an art adventure. We have been to Yellowstone National Park, the Sierras, Wyoming, Montana, Texas, Colorado, Washington, New Mexico, the central coast of California and other lovely places in the West. There is never a lack of beautiful places to visit and great folks to chat with. Painting is a universal language, speaking to all, of the beautiful creation in which we live, bringing rest to the soul. "Art should reflect the mind of the artist and the hand of the Creator."
