Artist's Statement

Pursuing oil painting in the Realist tradition fulfills my love of timeless design, craftsmanship, and beauty. I keep returning to nature, particularly flowers, as a source of wonder and inspiration. Flowers connect with us on an emotional level with the ability to evoke memories and enliven a space. I work primarily from life to reflect my subject's character, preserve its spirit, and share its beauty. Using methods passed down for generations and archival quality materials, I strive to create works to be enjoyed with every viewing for many years to come.
